    Pet Bereavement Support

At Tay Valley Vets we understand the difficulty and hardship that comes with the passing of your most loyal of friends.

As owners and animal lovers, we understand what a loyal companion can mean to you. We also know how difficult it can be to lose that companion.

Tay Valley Vets will make every effort to ensure this time is easier for you; so please call us if we can make any arrangements that might help, or even just to chat to a friendly face. In addition, we would like to make you aware of the Blue Cross for Pets who may be able to help.

Blue Cross For Pets

Blue Cross for Pets has been dedicated to the health and happiness of pets since 1897. Abandoned or unwanted, ill or injured – they do what’s needed to give every pet a healthy life in a happy home. Blue Cross is a charity, so the more help you can give them, the more help they can give pets.

Blue Cross for Pets also offer a Pet Bereavement Support Service, which offers help and support by telephone.

Call the Blue Cross for Pets bereavement support line on 0800 096 6606 (UK only including northern Ireland). The support line is open from 8.30am – 8.30pm everyday. All calls are free and confidential from a landline. If calling from a mobile phone, some phone networks may charge. Support is provided by trained volunteers. The service does not offer a counselling service but is able to offer emotional support and information for pet owners who may be experiencing the loss of a pet.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for the support line please register your interest to receive further information on how you can help other pet owners.

Help and Support

Sometimes, it’s easier to write about how you are feeling rather than talking to someone. Blue Cross for Pets can offer you support through their email support line at pbssmail@bluecross.org.uk.

They aim to answer your email as soon as possible and within a maximum of 48 hours. If however, you want to contact someone immediately, please use the telephone support line.
