All of our team are animal lovers, many with extensive menageries of animals they look after. You can be sure that we’ll provide the same level of care for your animal, as we would want for our own.
William Reynolds established the practice on York Place in 1896. In 1908 he extended into a garage at the bottom of his garden in Kinnoull Causeway. In 1921 Major Lornie took over the practice and sold on to Bert Macrae in 1946. In 1973 Macrae bought the warehouse next to the garage in Kinnoull Causeway from the Alloa Coal Company (who also owned Robertson’s Jams of Dundee).
Rob Whiteford and David Ramsay became partners with Bert Macrae and along with Andrew Herd who became a partner in 1992 bought 20 York Place and extended the premises into the rear of the building. All of whom have since retired from veterinary medicine.
We moved to new purpose built premises in 2001, to provide the very best veterinary service; with a central location, easy access, plenty of parking, reception space, treatment rooms and a dedicated equine centre. Jamie Gartside and Harvey Carruthers were the owners of the practice until August 2020 when we became part of the VetPartners family. Jamie Gartside and Harvey Carruthers have both since retired from the practice.
Our vet centre offers a comfortable waiting area (with a dedicated cat waiting area), an on-site dispensary and laboratory. We also have an isolation ward, and diagnostic and surgical suite, to offer your animals the very best care available.
